AXIA College - University Of Phoenix
Axia University of Phoenix Online is a Financial Aid Scam

If you plan on going to University of Phoenix Online or at Facility stop now or don't count on seeing a penny of your Stafford Loan or Pell Grant. My rep was Sara Stone, she will slam you in to classes before your Financial Aid is complete. I had 60 Credits already and it is mandatory you waste $1500 on a General Education class, just to make sure school is for you. What a joke, what happens is as soon as you Login to a class one time you owe Phoenix the full amount. If you have a problem with your Financial Aid they will demand immediate payment or send you to Collections within 14 days. This is part of their Scam. Whatever you do don't Login to any classes unless you want to be legally obligated to pay $1,500. I told Sara I did not want to start until I knew I had Financial Aid, she plays dumb on this issue for a good reason. My Finance Counselor was Debbie Franco she will lie to you and make you think that you will receive the balance of you Financial Aid for other costs like books, housing. That will never happen if you go here you will never see a penny of your Financial Aid they get it all, and you will most likely have to come up with additional $5-6k per semester, $16,500 per year for worthless classes that don't transfer to a Four year school. Read Online, many people have wasted thousands of dollars to have 3 Credits transfer, once again what a JOKE! The way Financial Aid works at Phoenix is as Debbie Franco says and she should know she is a Senior Financial Aid person, quote " We don't do this like regular schools we are different"
What she was responding to was my question on why I would not get the balance minus the $1500 for my General Education class that is mandatory. I should a got a check for $7500 they put in for the whole year at one time. She said the way it works is you have to take so many 10 Credits to qualify for Financial Aid, they hold all the money you don't get a penny, they keep that money and you have to take $16,500 worth of classes. You end up with a balance of 4-5k per year you owe. I was misled by both Sara Stone and Debbie Franco until money was available then the whole song changes. I read on the Internet that the reason that University of Phoenix does this is helps the Attendance Statistics, once they have all your Financial Aid money for the year you are done. Your recourse if you don't listen to me and make the mistake of going to this school is first of all unless your sure don't login to your first class or your done, you owe the whole amount it is in the Contract. If you do start and want to leave all you have to do is fill out the Official Withdrawl form on the University of Phoenix site, it should generate a email for your proof you did it. At this point if you only took one class, they have to Refund you back the Financial Aid they owe you minus the cost of the one class. They will lie to you and tell you can't cancel, but you can easily.By law they have to return any unused portion of you Financial Aid or contact a Lawyer most will jump on this no problem Pro Bono, they can't keep your money and the best thing to do is not go there, read the bad things other former Students and sadly even a good amount of their own Instructors have to say don't just take my word.
