I recieved a phone call and was in shock at what Camco was saying to me. I have excellent credit and have recently purchase my home add an addition my credit report had been pulled several times. So when they started to tell me that they were trying to collect on a debt that is over 11 years old.
I got curious and scared is there somthing out there that i forgot about they are saying that this debt has grown to over $15,000.00 and i need to settle it or it was going to be put back on my credit report. They had information on my current credit cards they knew how much credit i had available and all this is really making me want to straigten this out so they are asking for $5,500.00 to settle. Then they dropped it to 5,000.00 I said great.
Then when they started to tell me what i needed to do, my wife started getting curoius we had them send us an e-mail with this information on it. I agreed to give them my checking account number for a post dated check for $5,000.00.
Then we look them up on the net and found out the truth. I had to call my credit card companies go to bank close out that account call all the places i had checks still to. All of this cost me time and money. Then they tried to threaten me with legal action the next day. So i gave them the name and phone number of my attorney and said he is waiting for your call as we speak. They quickly hung up the phone.
I'm so thankful for all the advise that i have got for this web site. Let's take control and get these jerks out of business for good. I'm writing letters and making phone calls to anyone who will listen. First stop the Attorney General Office of Illonis.
