These people dont give a dam about anyone! They took my mother, who is 75, disabled, and batteling cancer of the bladder, and I to the cleaners! This home is a JOKE!
We signed a " Manufactured Home Purchase Order and Federal Disclosure Statement ", that states the "Total Cash Price "as being $70,030.00.
We put $30,000.00 down.By the time we signed the "Contract to Purchase and Deposit Agreement ", our cash price went up to $ 80,555.00. Leaving us a blance of $50,555.00. I asked the manager why the price went up, his reply was " The set up fee. We were over charged for the Optional equipment, labor abd accessirues. We were over charged Aproxamently $2,000.00 for the "Optional Equipment ".
We were never told about the IMPORTANT HEALTH NOTICE, stating the building materials emit Formaldehyde, causing Asthma-Like symptoms. Elderly persons and young children are at greater risk. Our signatures were forged on the "certificate of disclosure " warning about the Formaldehyde. My mother has asthma, and it has been at it's worst since moving into this DUMP!
We were told that all of our complaints concerning, the faluty wireing, leaking windows, walls seprating from ceiling, marriage joint comming apart, leaking tolietts, carpet comming appart at the seems, nails and screws found under the carpet, cracks around all the windows, no calking around the bathtubs, showers, and sinks, no cold water to the wash room, closet doors wont hang properly, numerous nails, and gashes in the exteriour. All of these things never have been fixed. Appointments were made and they never showed up. The serial numbers on my contracts dont match the ones on the home.
When these things were brought to Mr. Youngdahl's attiension, all he had to say was " go ahead and get an attourny, if you have that kind of money to through away." When he was asked about the over charges and why an additional finance charge of $2218.00, all he had to say was that thoes were just numbers and they didnt really mean anything.
Now, due to my mothers health, and her going in and out of the hospital sometimes for 3 months at a time. We have fallen 2 months behind on out payments. Everyday, someone is calling and threating me or my mother. Telling us we have to vacate the home within 5 days or they will have the sherrif remove us. We do have the home up for sell, but who will buy it in this condition? I'm telling everyone, do not by from Oakwood homes. They have heartless, greedy, liers, con artist, working for them!!! Oakwood Homes is a Rip Off!!! And an abuser of the eldery!
