I am enrolled in 2 classes in the New College Program where we meet 2x's every 2 weeks usually from 6:50-9:40. I needed to use the campus to study a few times for a couple of hours. They charge $250 for a parking pass that I would never be able to find parking in the color coded lots that pertain to my parking permit. I decided not to buy one and just park in the visitor parking. Visitor parking does not state that expired tags, (even if its a vehicle that was purchased and the tag was not removed) are not allowed to be present in the lot.
The visitor's lots were 40% empty. Recently this university just built a million dollar or more parking garage that is empty quite a bit of the time. They have 8 years to pay this off. I was advised by the police department that the person that deals with finance decisions is the person who brought up the idea of charging this violation at this level.
