Emmett Morris fraudulent ripoff business

Movers Of The Valley, Emmett Morris & "Tony" ALAWY MUNUDHIL Intimidating, threating tactics, condensending and foul language to get me to pay more money fraudulent ripoff business Mesa Arizona...

I wasn't surprised to see other reports about Movers of the Valley. Emmett and Tony sure have their act down.

After making a verbal agreement (which both Tony and Emmett guaranteed me a 26' truck; and payment with a check) and setting an appointment, the drivers arrived in a 18' truck. My relative was there to oversee the move and didn't know the difference. This is a deceptive practice that many movers pull - forcing you to make two trips and thus costing you more money due to extra time.

Not surprisingly, not all my furniture fit. When I got the call that there was a problem, I called Tony to inform him of their error and find out how he was going to correct it. He blamed the office staff & put Emmett on the phone, who proceded to get very buligerant, confrontational and eventually cussing at me and hanging up on me.

I received another phone call from my realtive that the movers had just taken off with my furniture down the freeway. Again, I called Emmett where he proceded to tell me that my furniture was his and if I wanted it back I'd have to take him to court. He also made statements to the fact that I said I wasn't going to pay him and he has it all recorded on tape.

After I informed him that what he had done was illegal and he had just stolen my property, I said I'd gladly see to it that he go to jail then see me in court. I reminded him that verbal agreements are binding in a court of law and that he had not fulfilled his end of the agreement, he surely would not like the outcome of a court case.

Emmett then pulled a threat that I now have to pay him in cash and pay for the time that they were in possession of my belongings - 5 hours at $50/hr. I'm no push over was not about to tollerate this threat. I was steadfast about our agreement and I said since the calls are being recorded (as he repeatedly yelled at me they were and he'd bring them to court) then he has just proven to any judge and jury how much in the wrong he was.

Oddly enough, the receptionist, Monica and the main driver "Rhody" sang to me like caged birds on how this happens day in and day out. Both emphatically apologized to me for Emmett's behavior. When I asked Rhody why he works for someone like this, he said he can't get a job anywhere else because he doesn't have drivers' license. Say Whay??? Also, he said they had to hurry because the other guy had to get back to jail!!!

You can be sure I'll be looking into this next and filling every complaint to every office that I can to put this guy out of business where ever he may go.

I've hired movers everytime I moved and have never had a problem before. I was in a hurry this time and it almost cost me all I have. This experience will not sway me from hiring movers again, but I will definitely ask for a faxed confirmation of our agreement before I sign anything.

TIP: When paying by a check write onthe check "Paid in Protest" should you have to go to court. This will protect you in recovering your expenses for bad services rendered!
