You walk into an office where there seems to be so much promise. Then before you realize it your out of money, a personal life, and you've wasted time. I would advise anyone reading this not to apply with this company.
Pittsburgh Wholesale opened up in January sometime. I've been one of the people who made it the farthest in their office. I dealt with their b.S. Until recently. I made it through the training and to the executive level.
It wasn't easy though. You pay for your gas to go sell bottles of perfume at far places. Then your selling the bottle for $20 and getting back 2-5 dollars depending on how far you made it through the training. Most never made more then $3!
You can't spend gas money, then bank on the fact that you MIGHT sell some bottles. Most times I'd leave and come back with less than I started with. You also pay for your own food.
Oh, and by the way, when you go far and have to reserve a hotel, you have to move something called "room bottles." You have to sell 2-4 bottles, then turn in all the money from these bottles to put towards the hotel room. Once again, it's not even a guarantee that you'll sell these bottles.
Basically, you're out money in that situation. You take your own car wherever you go. You also fight the elements every day-rain, wind, snow, sub-zero temps... You're expected to work in this. You also do this Monday - Saturday 9-5. Monday and Wednesday nights also till 9 or 10.
Fridays, lets not talk about Fridays. Because it is the worlds payday, on this day you're expected to be out there until you hit a personal goal or number you set for yourself at the beginning of the day. Doesn't sound too bad, right?
WRONG! I seem to have forgotten that the boss Natalie raises YOUR goal if she thinks you set it too low, most times being a # that would be a struggle for you to hit in a sensable amout of time. I've been out from as early as 9:00am to as late as 2:30am trying to hit these ridiculous goals. I needed to stay out there though, because I had lost so much money by this point, making 2 dollars was soundin good.
These people do not care about your personal life or anything else that you have going on. They give bonuses, but for the work you have to do to get them, it isn't worth it... Especially when the bonus money is cheap. They preach to you about having a good attitude over and over. They don't wanna hear any negatives.
But all they do is feed you negatives about the job you're doing. I was supposed to get my own office for the longest time, but it kept being delayed for pitiful reasons. How can you continue to be motivated about something that was promised but not givin to you?
If you quit they'll (2 bosses) talk on you like you're the worst person. They'll talk down other jobs to make theirs seem better. Yeah, whatever.
If you want your life ruined I would not apply or even continue with Pittsburgh Wholesale. It's a dangerous company to work for. If you have any normal bills to pay etc... I would stay away.
One more thing! My dad travels for his job. When he goes on business they give him something called a "PERDIUM" (per-dee-um). This is money that covers his expenses for the trip, including gas, hotel, and food. Now my dad also tells me there are laws in PA regarding perdium. He says there's a minimum amount you should get when doing this type of business. He is telling me what Pittsburgh Wholesale is doing to its employees is unjust and wrong!
I can go on and on about this issue. I've met some great people through this company (of which the bosses degrade), and had good times with them-not the job, but it eventually was too much for me. If it wasn't for my parents I'd be in worse shape. I'd hate to hear about this happening to anyone else. Watch for the ads in the paper that's in their 2 or 3 times just with a different heading or name, but same # or extension to it.
This for sure is the lowest point in my life and I'm barely in my lower 20's in age. Don't take the risk I took. Life's too short. And the bosses there... Not even worth... Let me stop myself. I'm laughing because I'm doing better than them already.
