I started Axia college in March, and like most of the reports I have read. I too was never given the proper information about the school, the catalog, or the cost. The administrative person was very nice and persuading. However once in the school after the first few weeks I knew that I had made a mistake. Call it buyers remorse or whatever but I have attempted several times to get information on how to get out of my contract. I was recently told that I have a learning diability; I filled out the paperwork to have additional time to turn in work. It just became confirmed with my teachers today (5/22) in the last week of school. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! When I contacted the school advisor yesterday to get out of this here contract, the only thing she said she would do in take me out of classes for two weeks-as a mini break this way I could continue to get my degree? At this point, taking these classes have stressed me out beyond repair. I even now seeing a psychologist, becasue I've become too overwhelmed. My psychologist is asking me why am I taking these classes, why give myself undo extra stress for no reason? The only reason I decided to attend this school was after losing my job I wanted to keep myself motivated. However, the strain of the classess the negative feedback from the instructors are terrible. Unlike taking classes at a community college you are tested to put in the appropriate class level. When you sign up here, there are no test and you are thrown into classes and made to sink or swim. If you sink (God forbed) you end up having to take the class again which atomically cost more money out of pocket. Can anyone help me with understanding the policies and procedures around breaking the contract with this school?
