After submitting a poem to www.Poetry.com, I was sent a letter stating I was a semi-finalist for a particular month, July. After not winning I was also invited to a banquet in Hollywood, Ca. But did not attend. I did get offers to collect my trophy, medal and plaque but had to pay $160.00. I was o.K. With that since I wlso received a three CD disc with 33 "Authors" on it which was read by David Rose. Mr. Rose also read my poem at the banquet.
My complaint is that I was sent a letter by The International Library of Poetry which said it selected me and 32 other "authors" for a book that would be printed by December. The title was The Sound of Poetry or Poetry From The Soul.
I paid for two copies of this hard cover book but have yet to hear from the publisher and have also not received any such book. I want these people prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I would appreciate any assistance in this matter.
Finally, I also have since heard from two record companies in Hollywood seeking two turn my poem "Dear Mr. Commissioner" into a song. The asking price from this companies was $416.00 and $431.00. I refuse to pay out any money for publication of my work.
For the record, the names of these suspect companies are as follows: Amerecord 1680 North Vine St. Suite 317, Hollywood, Ca. 90028-8829 and Hilltop Records 17777 No Vine St. Suite 411 Hollywood, Ca. 90028
