All the previous statements against MTC are true plus many more. The food was horrible, the dorm rooms were tiny and cold, rats run throughout the walls and ceilings, the bathrooms had no hot water whatsoever, the toilets were broken and wouldn't flush. Twice during my stay an angry/disturbed man deficated all over the one working toilet in the women's bathroom.
We knew it was a man because there were only 2 women there and we were both out on the yard when it happened. When we complained we were told to clean it up ourselves if we wanted to use it. There was no adequate time in the trucks and many nights I would get only 1 turn in a truck to learn to do the yard manuvers. Many of the other students were sent off to take their CDL tests long before they were adequately prepared to take them.
When those students complained they were told to be quiet or they would be sent home. Many of those students flunked 3 or more times without any practice time in between tests. On test days students were shipped all over the state of Missouri to various DMV's getting only an hour or 2 of sleep before testing.
As others have said their was mold growing thoughout the dorm building and at one time or the other everyone was sick with colds, allergies, various stomach and intestional problems but what was even more upsetting was that many of us were plagued with bugs. At first we heard it was bedbugs but later as the bitten were going home to their own family Doctors we were told it was some sort of mite that came from rats or some other creature.
The day I left to go home I had some 50 red, oozing, blistered spots all over my body. Today, 6 days since I left MTC, my bites are finally drying up. I have no insurance so I couldn't go to a Dr.
I now have no CDL, no job, I have bug bite scars and I owe about $8000 to some damn finance company. They sent me home with only a 10 minute notice to pack up and leave. Yeah they did give me a ride to the bus depot, on Thanksgiving Eve. I didn't even have enough money to get home, but thanks to some nice stranger I managed to get a bus ticket. Unfortunately I had to transfer buses halfway home and the buses were all full so I had to sleep in the Indianapolis bus station.
I had no money and MTC hadn't fed us since the day before. I ate Thanksgiving dinner in that bus station thanks to a local church. It took me 30 hours to get home ordinarilly it's a 4 hour drive.
The only good thing I have to say about the place is that they have great road instructers. I did not even get to take the CDL test because I wasnt given enough instruction to pass my yard test. I'm a good driver but you have to be able to park those big old trucks and I couldn't. I feel like I have been raped by MTC and I really believe we should be able to sue them.
