We recently noticed an $89.95 charge to our credit card from a company called MWI Connections. Upon further investigation, we found two previous charges of $79.95 from the same company. We had never heard of this company, have never received any "service" from them, and have never given them our credit card information.
We called the 800 number listed on our bill to find out who they are and why they charged our account. The person that answered didn't want to tell us anything about the company, but finally gave a vague answer that we must have bought some service to save money, and that it was offered through our credit card company. We contacted our credit card company, and they said they have no record of anything like this. We have put the charges in dispute.
I have a guess as to where they got my credit card number — the charges started two months after I made airline reservations online. We have never purchased anything from, or given credit card information to, a telemarketer.
