MBNA ACCT OPENED OCT 1999 by third party: Total Advances since JUNE=1000.00. Acct has not been used since. Loan Agreement per representative over phone 36-mths. I've since then made 38 pmts. I paid $23.00 for 7-8, mths /$44.00 for remaining 30 pmts=almost $1400-$1500.
MBNA America is a rippoff credit agency whom are out to get young consumers who have no clue about credit and how it can getyou. I was 18 years of age when this acct was opened. I was a freshman in college and I had no money. One day out of the blue I get a call from my sister informing me one of my other sisters have opened up a MBNA gateway acct.
I have no clue how this was done. However there it was a 1500 credit limit acct from mbna. I never got any disclosure forms nor did i see any terms or agreement. The only thign that I got at 18 was some checks. Now I am a freshman no job how in heavens name did I get approve for this loan. Still I used the loan being uneducated and tricked by a mbna rep way back in 1999.
I am still getting manipulated with as of today. I took a advance. The rep told me that i would pay a certain amt for 3 years and it will be done. Ok I have made 38 pmts. I only took the advance for 1000.00 I made 30 pmts of 44 and 8 pmts of 23. I still owe them 1890.00 How. They put all of these latecharges on my acct, over limit fees. I have not used this act since june. They cant explain whats going on.
There trying to tell me I have 1800 in late fees. The interest rate has increased so high. II know it was a fixed rate but i dont know the initial rate because i never got any loan documents. When i requested to have them sent to me, they claimed they couldnt. Just like they mentioned they could not tell me how the loan was originated if I didnt sign anything. Also They are reporting I havent made pmts that I did. They set me up on this reconstruction program in sept to bring me current.
The rep tld me to make 3 pmts of 44 in which i did even though I was struggling with money due to the birth of my child, and she stated they would defer december. She stated it would lower the int rate and lates would stop. I was charged a late for each pmt still along with an increase in late charge and overbalance fee, also i was charged a pmt fee inwhich she did not mention, and still my pmt was not defered, and i was still getting late and aslo a increase in my int rate.
When questioned the rep told me they could not go back into the prev comments. I tried to settel but they only offerd 1400 out of 1800 when I have paid them there 36 pmts plus two. Where this balance come from only mbna knows. They have lied to me for so long. A fixed int rate means fixed.in the terms online that i had to research myself it mentions tht and it does not mention any info about latecharges overbalcnce fees or increase of them without notice.
MBNA has not yet explained to me why my acct is like this nor have they explined why I have on my credit report being late when they told me they wouldnt report them if i made pmt at particular time in which i did. They send me all of these letters about having good credit wiht them but they keep reporting me to credit bureau. They even reported me for a month that i had paid on time. I dont mind paying what I owe but i refuse to paid what has already been paid.
