Okay So I answered the ad "talent scout/Recruiter wanted", went to the interview and was offered the position. It all seemed legit enough, My job was to keep an eye out for individuals who stood out to me and invite the to an "Open Call" which the hold every Monday. I was also to be at the open call to welcome, suport and assist any of the potential models I scouted.
If anyone I scouted was asked back for an "audition" and got signed I recieved a bonus. All seemed okay at that point. Well, I had a busy week and although I did scout a couple of potential models, I was suppose to have 5 so I cheated and asked a couple friends of mind if their children could go to open call to cover me... I expected to get a talking to about my selection, and figured I would just promise to do better.intead, I got thrown into the flow and was put into a room to "interview" the potential models. I was told this was to help speed things up and that I would only be sent potentials that had scored very high on all things already and would be asked back, so that I didn't have to worry about making the decision or have to reject anyone. Well, to make it all short, after a few "Open Calls" I realized that everyone gets invited back, and being signed, meant they signed up for the schooling or whatever. Well, needless to say this was against my integrity and I no longer scouted for them.
I don't know if I would say it is all a rip off, I believe that some have gained confidence and that maybe some have gotten paid modeling jobs. I know my friends daughter did gain alot from her experience, she did not get any paid modeling jobs... As for the cost, well the spent abouth the same on her brother who joined a hockey team, he may not get signed either, but he is learning a lot...
