I enrolled at AXIA to take their online classes after I was promised that I would not have to pay for anything, as government grants would cover everything. I took the opportunity, because I have no money and I wanted an associates degree in criminal justice.
The counselor was very polite and helped me fill out all the forms online step-by-step. When it came close to the time for classes to start, I had to go in for a surgery because of a tumor in my neck. I contacted my counselor and told him that I wont be able to start the classes because the time would overlap. He told me that I dont need to drop the classes. He assured me that I would be able to start when I am fully recovered and that missing the first week would not affect my grades at all.
When classes started, my grades were imediately failing. I tried so hard to bring them up. I quickly learned that the teachers were absolute bitches and would not work with me trying to figure out their complicated online system. I even received grades of other students work! She confused my work with that of an other student! I kept with it and tried harder and harder.
Later on durring the course I had to go in for an other emergency surgery because the tumer from before had come back! With this happening and the condition of my grades I decided that I was not going to finish.
I then started receiving phone calls from the financial counselor asking for payment. I told her that I am not finished and that I did not have the money because I thought that grants were going to pay for it. She said that the on my forms I indicated that I would pay cash. Well, the forms were basically filled out by my enrollment counselor, and he said that I need to say I am paying cash because the grants were not lined up yet and that will be taken care of later.
Oh, and then the financial counselor started trying to get me to apply for loans to pay them! That is insane! They think I should go take a loan for $2,000 to pay them for something where I got nothing more than a couple of arguments with overly controling cyber teachers.
Well it is a long story as you can see, but basically now, I am getting threatening calls from a company called reliant. They are demanding that I pay and offering me low montly payments! You know, maybe if they offer me a free AXIA hat with that low monthy payment offer, they might just talk me into it! But I think since I dont have any money, Ill just fart in a "fresh-lock" zip lock bag and send that to them instead! I mean really, they are barking up the wrong tree! I am job searching because I have not worked since my tumer and I have over $60,000 in debt for medical bills now! I am not going to pay them, but they are trying to ruin my credit now too!
They are trying to send a fellow american and many more further and further into poverty with a f*ed up online scam! I think we should kick this company out of our country back to hell where they came from! I would like to be part of the group that wants to open a lawsuit against AXIA.
