Fairbanks Capital
Ripoff liars, they just won't listen

My Mother-n-law passed away. Her son and grandson (my nephew) stayed in her house and made all payments. Everything was fine until the mortgage was sold to Fairbanks. This is about the same time my brother-n-law moved out and my nephew took over payments.

Since taking over this account Fairbanks Capital has, and continues to, put my nephew through mortgage hell.

Fairbanks Capital calls me often because we are listed as a contact. They are always saying they want to know who is going to make the payments even though they are not late.

Last year, Fairbanks Capital claimed there was a problem with the insurance and they began to foreclose on the house.
There is a little under $18,000 left owed on the home. I am beginging to believe they are trying some kind of weird, rip off scam trying to get the house.

My nephew sold one of his collections he had for 15 years to pay almost 2 grand they were asking for. They also said they couldn't find a record of my mother-n-laws death certificate, which we had already provided to equicredit before they sold out to Fairbanks.

We sent 2 grand and gave specific directions as to what to do with it. We also sent another copy of the death certificate.

The next month my nephew was sent a notice saying he was being foreclosed on again because payment had not been made.

After spending more then a day on the phone my sister-n-law found out that they put the payment on the principle and never applied it to the whole reason they gave us in the first place which was never really quite clear to begin with.

Now they were asking for another $2000.

Thank God my sister-n-law keeps excellent records because this enabled her to prove her side of the situation. We still are not sure what is or isn't straightened out. Rarely can we get a hol dof them.

They also told my sister-n-law she would have to submit a death certificate because they did not have one on file. She sent them another one.

A few weeks ago a note was posted on my nephews door saying he must contact Fairbanks as soon as possible. There are not agents here in town. It was very odd.

Yesterday Fairbanks Capital called my house and asked for my Mother-n-law. I told them she had passed away 8 years earlier and they said we needed to send them proof in the form of a death certificate. I tried to explain 3 times they were sent one. She also explained the payment was late for this month even though I had spoken to my nephew earlier in the week and he said he was current on the mortgage.

This company has some major problems. I truly believe they want my mother-n-laws house. With what they pull on a monthly basis there is o reason to believe otherwise.
