Letter received in my name with with no return address, stamped on 4-23-08 from www.canadapost.ca. Enclosed a check payable to me endrosed by Kress Employment Solutions and drawn by Commerce Bank #55-136/312 Check #27199. Letter states for me to work on an assignment as a "Customer Service Evaluator" for WalMart and Sears to provide an "unbiased" opinion of the pay system "MONEYGRAM". To pose as a potential customer. Letter states that if I do not call in within 24 hours of my receipt of letter, the check will be voided via automatic stop payment. It states that the assignment takes 2 hours and that training is at a rate of $180.00 per hour.in this letter it details expenses I will incur while completing assignment: Evaluation/Training: $360, Sears Purchase $50, WalMart purchase $40, MoneyGram transfer $1400, MoneyGram service charge $100, totals the amount of $1950 (which is the amount in check enclosed). Letter signed by a Janet Martin Human Resources Manager. A form that must be completed upon completion of my assignment. Clearly this is a scam since no one sends out a check for that much money to an unknown individual and it also asks that i transfer $1400. I called the phone number at 9pm today 4-24-08 which is when I received the letter and a gentleman answered, I said I was calling about a letter I had received for employment he said to "call back tomorrow because they were now closed" This letter was created on a word document and I checked for both company names and they are non-existint. This is very scary and I hope it is looked into since perhaps a person that is not an educated consumer may be loosed their money and identity.
