Complaint / Review
Jasmin Putnam, Tim Putnam, Putnam Violins, Putnam Enterprises
ICM, Irvine Conservatory Of Music, (Suzuki Violin) Non-certified Suzuki Violin teachers protraying themselves as certified

Jasmin Putnam is teaching Suzuki violin lessons in Irvine, California, using Suzuki Violin Books one through Book ten, to unsuspecting students, charging top dollar, and she is NOT PROPERLY CERTIFIED by the SAA (Suzuki Association of America) to teach the other SUZUKI VIOLIN books. Jasmin Putnam is ONLY certified to teach Suzuki Violin Book one and Suzuki Violin Book six. That is correct! Jasmin Putnam only has certification in two Suzuki books and THAT IS IT!

Jasmin Putnam does not have proper credentials for Suzuki Books two, nor Book three, nor Book four, nor Book five, nor Book seven, nor Book eight, nor Book nine, nor Book ten. Please check out the SAA website for yourself.
Shocking, isn't it?

Jasmin Putnam will not admit this upfront to any of her students and is therefore capitalizing on the Suzuki name.

Jasmin Putnam PORTRAYS herself as qualified/certified to teach all ten of the Suzuki violin books and this is wrong.

Why doesn't Jasmin Putnam take her time to go to the Suzuki workshops/learning centers and get properly certified and better herself so that she can then become an accountable and responsible violin teacher to her students?

She is too busy going to various unsuspecting Montessouri schools in Irvine to try to hitch more unsuspecting prospective students/parents interested in getting their child a 'Suzuki Violin Education.'
She is too busy holding once/month violin group lessons for all of these unsuspecting 'Suzuki students' of hers at University Synagague in Irvine, for which they do not care about the integrity of an organization but only getting the rent money from Jasmin Putnam.
It looks like it is purely all about the buck here.
Violin teachers behaving like this, with a focus on making a buck and not being accountable and responsible, are doing a disservice and discredit to DR. Suzuki, his philosophy and to the entire Suzuki associations and all of it's dedicated students. And, to these students parents who are paying top dollar for inferior violin education such as this type.
Buyer Beware!

Violin students and their parents... Beware!

Know what you are actually paying for.
If you see advanced students from Jasmin PUtnam, know that these special students have gone on to more qualified, advanced teachers with credentials and higher education. Jasmin PUtnam likes to take full credit for a few of these students and will not tell you this. She will only tell you that 'she is so proud of her students that went on.'

If you truly want QUALITY Suzuki Violin lessons, search and ask the teacher upfront about their schooling and credentials first.

Make certain that your Suzuki teacher has been certified by the SAA.

Just because a teacher will pull out a Suzuki book and begin to teach from it does not mean that they are qualified or certified to do so!

Even if they show you a picture of themselves with Dr. Suzuki.

That means nothing but it 'looks good' for business.
There are teachers that conduct themselves in this fashion are shameless!
Again...
Buyer Beware!
Violin students and parents... Beware!

Anyone that can play out of the Suzuki books can go ahead and 'teach Suzuki violin', rip off the public, and call themselves 'Suzuki Violin teachers'.
If you are going to put out hard-earned money for your child's violin lessons, make certain that your teacher has the proper credentials and is certified.

Also, Jasmin Putnam has apparently taught her husband, Tim Putnam, how to play the pieces in Suzuki Book one, Book two, and Book three.

So, Tim Putnam states that he is 'qualified/certified, as he states, to teach only the first three books of Suzuki violin and then passes his advanced students onto Jasmin PUtnam, who then charges more money and she is not even properly certified.

These people are very good at 'talking the Suzuki talk' but are not being upfront about their 'credentials.'
What a huge rip off to the community and a disservice to us all.

The Suzuki ASsociation is investigating this matter.

Also, a parent discovered an interesting fact about Jasmin PUtnam:
Jasmin PUtnam is apparently the 'vice president of the Irvine Conservatory of Music', a non-profit organization.
Funny thing that Jasmin Putnam makes absolutely no mention of this to any of her students.

People in the Irvine Community and of Orange County who are dedicated to having their child learn the violin DESERVE to know the truth and what Jasmin and Tim Putnam DO NOT want to share with you... Their lack of proper Suzuki training and credentials!

Parents... Don't be afraid to ask or talk to your Suzuiki violin teacher about whether they have proper training or proper credentials or not.
It is your hard-earned money and most importantly, your precious child's music education.
