I was tired of an internet service I had, so decided to sign up with the highly advertised AOL, BIG MIstake. I went through the set up, and came upon the part where I was to choose my 308 area code numbers, to get on internet, I did, they connected me. I thought everything was fine.
It was about two weeks when all of a sudden I couldn/t log on anylonger, well it turns out that MCI was charging me long distance fee/s.
They said they cut me off, because My bill was 1000.00. I was devastated. I explained that I had signed up for AOL, and that the charges were through them.
I had no Idea that this could happen. At MCI the operator said, he had just got through talking to a guy with the same problem.
And that AOL paid a couple hundred toward the bill.
They didn/t pay that to be good guys, they paid it, cause they knew they were at fault.
I found out that other people have had the same problem. There should have been a warning signal given, showing a toll call, before they dial the number.
This is a total scam!
