Rip off! Advertising in newspaper and on-line for post office jobs! Warren, pennsylvania

What a rip off!!! While looking for a job in the newspaper, and on-line, I saw several adds for: POST OFFICE NOW HIRING! Average Pay $20/hour, $57K/year includes Federal benefits, overtime. 1-866-263-6316.

I obviously thought it meant there were actual job openings in my area since it was listed in the area newspaper. I called the number listed. An agent came on and I told her I was interested in a job with the post office that was listed in the paper. She told me that she would explain the "process".

I would need to study for the "Postal Battery Exam". It consists of (4) parts: Memory, Number Sequence, Coding and Verbal Comprehension. I would need to score a 70% to pass, but the higher score the faster I would get hired. She told me there were (4) extry level positions open: Sorter, Window Clerk, Rural delivery, and regular delivery. She asked me which one I would be interested in. I stated the first two, NOT either of the delivery positions. She stated the pay and that the positions included full benefits, which is listed above in the ad. She said that I would be placed at a post office in my area that was no more than 30 miles from my home. She said that she would send me the study package and I would receive it within 7 to 10 days. Once I studied and was ready to take the test the package would give me the number of where to call to register for the test. I stated to her that I wanted to take it really soon and asked her how often the gave the tests in my area. She asked my zip code. I told her. She said they have them very often and it would not be a problem.

I asked her what I needed to do to get this process going. She stated that I would need to pay $129.45. I gave her my credit card number. She said it was refundable. She gave me a customer code and customer service phone number. She said that I would receive an email within 2 days with the website to go to that would also have study material listed.

I received the email the next day. I tried to get into the website and it kept saying that the server could not be located!

I then got a little suspicious and pulled up US Work Alliance on the internet to see if there was another website listed. What I found there really surprised me!

There were lots of people listing this as a RIP OFF! As I read these reports I realized I had been ripped off too! This website does not work. There really are no postal jobs open in my area. I just paid $129.45 for nothing!!!

I called the customer service number and I did speak to an agent. She made up some story that the website was down for a few minutes. I confronted her with the stories of people like me that were scammed into paying this money.

She said that the US Work Alliance is not affiliated with the Post Office and that they have no idea if there are jobs open in my area. They don't even have that information! I made her pull up the cities that were giving the exams in Pennsylvania. There were not any in my area that were even doing the exams until the end of June. And then it is another 2 to 10 weeks before you even find out anything after taking the exam. Also, the only cities in Pennsylvania that were even giving the exams were only testing for postal carriers not any other type of jobs! I clearly stated that I was not even interested in a delivery positon before I paid the $129.45.

I told her that this was a rip off and I wanted my money back. How misleading can you get! She agreed to refund my money, but minus a $29.95 shipping fee. When I get the package I have to send it back unopened. So basically I paid $29.95 for nothing!

Can you imagine how much money they are making off people for nothing. Even at $29.95 a person, much less the entire $129.45!!

Oh yeah, I also found out that you don't even have to purchase the study package at all to take the test. They just make it sound like that is part of the process so you will pay them the money!

Don't fall for this scam! Disregard any job posings in the paper or on the internet for postal job openings in your area.

Call your local Post Offices first and find out from them if they are actually hiring right now before wasting your hard earned money on the scam that is:
