I applied for a job listed in the Rocky Mountain News for an assistant manager job (stating no new office needs management and admin help, no experience necessary). To my surprise, with no experiece, I nailed the first interview and was asked back for a second. Went in to the second interview and was told to come back for training. The person in charge, Neal Johnston, said we needed to learn the sales procedure before we actually ran an office).
The first day of training they stated we would have a fun "game" to see who could sell the most of the product (knock-off perfumes) for a chance to win $500. The second day the group did not meet the quota so no one won the $500. But lo and behold a new game to see if we could sell more perfume. A friend alerted me that this was a scam that preyed on people's hopes for a job and a good opportunity. See the following report from another job hunter in 2006: http://usacomplaints.com/reports/0/208/RipOff0208649.htm. This person also fell for the scam. I think job hunters should be alerted to this scam and know what a rip-off it is.
