Booked a "4 star" hotel in London through Priceline.com. After my bid was accepted I was assigned a hotel that was not in the area I had originally requested. After doing further research on the "assigned hotel" I saw the many, many unfavorable reviews/comments concerning this hotel. Also the star rating was listed on numerous sites as a 3 star or less.
I immediately contacted Priceline to cancel my request/reservation and was told "NO changes/cancellations are accepted". I then tried going through their corporate offices with e-mails and phone calls but I am told they are still standing by their 4 star rating for this hotel. I even forwarded them a list of the reviews/comments and the web-sites addresses with still no resolution.
If they want to strictly enforce their "NO cancel policy" than they should be strictly held accountable to stand behind what they are offering for sale. If the consumer is not satisfied with the product being offered then they should be able to change or cancel their transaction.
I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau,
Consumer Affairs and also disputed the charge with my credit card company.
Hopefully something will be done to keep this company from RIPPING people off!
