I am a professional working woman and have great job history and wanted to enter marketing/events for non-profit as APEX offered.
Apex office has a young polite secretary munching on candy bar with boom box up 5 notches to drown out the adjacent interview conversations. The APEX name on the glass entry door looked to be made out of masking tape.
Chris (robust 30's bald macho male) invited me to a seat in his office, closed door. He said it was a three step interview process. 1st to get to know me.
Asked me what I wanted to do, why was I here: events I said. He asked me if I went to the website, I did, and tried to say that there was no detail about the job and to ask him to elaborate, but he puffed up arrogantly after my first word and shut me down from talking by repeating himself angrily.in other words, it was all about him today and I was not to talk.instead, he just puffed up more and shook his head, pen waving in the air, saying "I can see this is not a good fit" while he proceeded to take the pen and mark a full X across the page.
He got up ending the interview as I collected my folder and purse. I went toward him with my hand out to retrieve my application but he retreated saying that it belonged to him.
His demeanor was absolutely appauling, arrogant and abusive.
I can't help but think that this is a fly-by-night rip-off operation in the business to possibly collect names, date of birth and social security numbers from innocent individuals needing a job. Is anyone watching these people?
