In 1999 Maria Fuerguson opened up the school, Hudson Valley School Of Adanced Aesthetic Skin Care in Highland, NY. She later moved it to New Paltz, NY but still doesn't have a permanent location for that or her massage school. Her turnover rate is unheard of. Due to her drug & alcohol use, she smokes pot, she has short term memory problems. The students do not get the education the pay for and the employees are treated very badly. At one time she fired someone for being pregnant!
I was one of the employees fired last year after another incident. She re-hired the employee that was fired for being pregnant. I worked in the office so know all the details. She agreed to pay her $20 an hour and pay her medical benefits for the employee and her family. She did neither. The employee she hired refused to do anything illegal or outside the scope of an Aesthetic's license. This caused a lot of friction.
There was a student named Lucile who attended the school. At first glance you would have no idea that she was a student since Maria Fueguson had Lucile do things like unload her car and other manual labor even though Lucile was about 60 years old. She was able to carry 5 gallon bottles of water up 3 floors with little effort.
After her graduation Maria hired Lucile to work with her. She did all kinds of manual labor but was unable to learn things like taking money from clients at the front desk. She later started paying her retarded son to work there also. Many students were afraid of him and didn't realize he worked there. They complained about the "pervert" lurking around.
Maria also got Dr. Chevellia of Middletown, NY sued by burning someone with her IPL machine that she isn't properly trained to use. At that time he stopped any affiliation with the school but she continued to send copies of his medical license to various companies in order to obtain products that were only supposed to be available by a doctor. She is now doing even more invasive treatments, essentially practicing medicine without a license, even though the NYS department of regence clearly told her that she was not to have clients that were paying a different fee schedule worked on at the premises previously.
One night there were women undressing (they take their shirts off for facials) behind a curtain. They got very upset when they noticed Tommy, Lucile's adult son, peeping at them at the corner of the curtain. The students asked one of their instructors, Kim Chait-Lund to get him to stop. Kim then got him to leave the room. Lucile came back and told him to start again. One of the students then got Kim. The student and Lucile began agrueing. At that time Kim, the instructor, told the student to go back to what she was doing and she would handle it.
Lucile and Kim were arguing but all I could hear was Lucile swearing at Kim and yelling at her. I then saw Lucile slam Kim into the corner of a door. Kim then got loud and started screaming that if anyone touches her again she's hitting back. At that time, Tommy Picked up a duffel bag filled with tools and slammed it into Kim and told her that he was going to "kick her fxxxing xxx". I saw Kim call Maria immediately and tell her she needed to get there.
Maria arrived and they all went into her office upstairs. Kim later stated that she had been put on probation and no action had been taken against those that assaulted her. I wasn't in the office so don't know first hand what happened but Kim claims she was told if she was to press criminal charges she would be fired.
Kim came to work the next day but she wasn't feeling well. She has fibromyalgia to begin with but has always worked. We were doing body treatments which involved the room being very hot. Kim's knees buckled and she almost fell to the floor. We helped her into another room to lay down.
The next day Kim called the school and Maria Furguson and her sister Rosanea Tolesko told me not to give her the workman's comp information. I was then told she was being fired for " making trouble" Maria Fuerguson, the owner of the Hudson Valley School of Advanced Aesthetic Skin Care left Kim a message that she was fired.
Later Kim filed for workman's comp benefits. She stated she initially just wanted to document her bruises. All of the students willing to testify against Kim were given school hours if they were willing to testify against her. The employees including myself were told either we backed up the school or we would be fired. So we could either perjure ourselves or be jobless. The students that did tell the truth were harassed as a result of it.
Maria Fuerguson paid off everyone. Kim's lawyer forgot to call in the witnesses and forgot to submit the original medical reports that noted the extensive bruising that she had. I personally saw the bruising and the medical reports.
As a result of this incident many employees were fired. Lucile and her son were not included in the list. Students were ostersized. Kim was left disabled beyond the point of being able to work and has had to file for bankruptcy. Maria Furguson has done this type of thing to many people. Also, her sister Rosana Tolesko screams and swears at the employees and students and makes racial and anti-sametic jokes. She also walks around the school naked and makes raunchy references about sex.
The students that attend the Hudson Valley School of Advanced Aesthetic Skin Care do not get their 15 grand worth of education.in an effort to make money Maria Fuerguson has untrained students working on clients in addition to using equipment that has not been sterilized. This is unfair to the students and the unknowing clients.
Maria Fuerguson has fired or harassed until they quit over 100 employees in her time in business. She claims to have years of experience working with a plastic surgeon.in reality she has years of working a half a day every other week in an office. She has never even worked any where with an operating room and has no real medical training. Her entire curriculum has been stolen from a past instructor. She claims she wrote the material but doesn't even understand most of it.
She sells prescription skin products without a license and does treatments that legally need to have a doctor present to do. Prior to working at or attending the Hudson Valley School of Advanced Aesthetic Skin Care I would suggest talking to some of the graduates. Maria gives hours for things they've never even done just to get them out.
