I am current UoP student and recently discover this site and realizing my mistake. I thought this school would be fully accredited and I did not know that the degree I would be working hard for would not be that acceptable in the field I am going to. I have done some research and hardly a hospital or doctor's office will accept me based on where I have obtain my degree.
I was all prepared for the effort and the work yet after during it for a few weeks I have decided to write them a letter of withdrawal and reapply at a local college here in my city knowing that what I do obtain here that my degree will be trustworthy and I would have more fulfillment.
I agree the classes are fun and the work is exciting but how can a person work in segments and blocks with the material and still gather the concepts needed. I know some people got great jobs because of the degree but if they are force to pay 280 million dollars to their shareholders then there is something up with company. Its not a school, its a business to gain profit and disrespect those trying to better the lives of their families or themselves not to be hosed in by " real education" that isn't real if anyone can succeed without getting bachelors then getting the masters first. It simply does not work that way.
Educational system is troubling already with how students learn now in school and I have 2 small children will be joining a system that may or may not work for them and the last thing I want to do is get a sheepskin degree that isn't going to be valuable when I go for that "career".
Any recommendations to get out of the school and still not to have them owe them a darn thing since they have been screwing me on my FAFSA etc and I still haven't heard or seen a dime of my FA since I began my classes.
I for anyone applaude those that have opinions but you know instead of ranting about the "wrong " decision you made correct it and just go for it again. Do not berate yourself, if you choose to go with UOP, more power to you but if you do not want to continue fix it and move on. I want to learn but I want to learn with an environment that meets full national accreditation status and not regional because how does that benefit those from around the globe trying to better their lives.
As I said before, I enjoy it till I remember the guilt trip email they sent me a few years back when I wouldn't join right away and then I look at the class work and how it was segmented. I felt my education was not going to be thorough. I want to be a respected woman when I seek my job placement after earning my AD and with this. I do not feel that what I gather or take from this "COMPANY" will not provide me with my goals.
