I concur with the other respondents to "Shopping Essentials".in October I ordered some gift certificates from restaurant.com and was automatically signed up for this program because I didn't read the VERY FINE print at the bottom of the e-mail.
In December, I notice a $ 14.95 charge on my credit card for "SHopping Essentials". I called the phone number listed next to it and found out that it was a service to order gift cards from Macy's [don't shop macy's because they destroyed Marshall Field's] and a few other stores. I wasn't even aware of it. Moreover, they claim they sent me confirmation e-mails. These must've hit my spam filter and the sender didn't fill out a user request so I never knew about it. Then they insisted that they sent me a package in the postal mail. Again, I never received anything from Shopping Essentials.
This is a dirty, deceptive and dishonest way to do business. I caution anybody using the internet-don't be in too much of a hurry and read thru all of the options to receive cashback bonuses and other premiums carefully. I have been using restaurant.com for years but have always been satisfied in the past. The charge was supposedly removed after I complained that I wasn't even aware of my enrollment. I'll believe it when I see the credit on my bill.
