About a year ago this company called me and told me I won a $1000.00 shopping spree. Their name was described very close to the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes.in order to claim this prize, I was told to fill out a one time subscription to a magazine that they told me they would charge on my credit card. I told them I wanted to see proof of the shopping spree I had won and they gave me the web site. They told me to check it out and if I wasn't satisfied I could call and cancel with no problem. I saw the web site and was completely suprised at all the worthless junk on the site that would never amount to a payment of what they were asking for the magazines. I also caculated what the amount would come to for like 2 years of this order and it was around $400.00. I immediately called them back and they told me they could not refund that first time fee of approximately $45.00 but would cancel my order and send me some magazines for that fee I already paid. I counted my loss and left it at that.
Today Dec. 18, i recieved a letter from them, half handwritten, saying my account is seriously past due and in order to avoid court in December, And to "keep yourself out of a financial nightmare, pay ASAP $138.00, cancel fee, to avoid court plus additional fees!"
