Got scammed by a liar by the name of "Luca", back in October at the Whittier Home Depot parking lot.
Was grabbing a bite to eat at Del Taco, when a short (5'-2'), plump, Italian scammer named "Luca" in a brand new rented dodge sedan asked for some help.
He said in broken English, that he was the Armani rep. At the LA trade show, and was flying back to Italy today, and didn't want to pay the import fee on six left over jackets. So would I buy all six for $360? He showed me a receipt, his italian drivers license and credit cards, and his car didn't have anything else in it besides a small duffel bag that was too small to hold anymore jackets. He even showed me that he wasn't hiding more under the trunk board. The pig!
He showed me the certificates of authenticity, and everything!
I told him, I didn't need them and don't wear them, but somehow he convinced me. I never do stuff like this! I drove to an ATM, and paid him $360 for 4 black "lambskin" leather, and 2 suede jackets still in the plastic that is labeled "R.G.A. Reportage Import/Export". They are fairly nice jackets, but they have a smell to them-like mothballs or something. $60 for a decent leather jacket isn't bad, but knowing I was scammed, makes me feel like a dummy. And now I have 6 jackets that I don't know what to do with!
