On or around oct. 22 I opened a spammers hotmail from davidgales audiosecrets, which linked me to Jason James Greedygiveaways. It seemed a great free promotion. I proceeded to download several of their free how to "E"books, on how to drive people to your web site, ironically, but apparently I opened a can of virus worms as is it seems my computer has been hyjacked and now is being held hostage, I think they installed TROJAN, a virus with worms and infections, DELIBERATELY SO THEY CAN BULLY ME & FORCE ME INTO PAYING THEM! TO REMOVE THESE SAME INFECTIONS WHICH THEY themselves apparently INSTALLED.
They even went so far as to CREATE A NEW RESTORE POINT ON MY COMPUTER, UNAUTHORISED BY ME SO THEY COULD INSTALL THIS TROJAN VIRUS WHICH CAUSED THE FOLLOWING COMPUTER PROBLEMS, my computer continually freezes up due to their constant popups with virus threats, these popups hyjack me to their websites with frequent automatic virus scans, which are to intimidate me into purchasing their illedgedly fake virus removal software because the scans list many viruses,
They also installed a new tool bar which I cannot get off the top of my computer, but worst of all my credit card has unauthorised charges from them leading me to believe that they are spying, trying to obain my account, credit card info, for possible identy theft / credit card fraud. They seem to be associated with Canada somehow.
HERES a list of the many problems Ive encountered since I downloaded greedy giveaways, An advertising taskbar, which I cannot get rid of called Security toolbar7.1-with links saying Blockadware/popups and remove spyware was installed at the top of MY task bar by the bullys which have apparanley caused all this damage. Popups with system alerts & virus warnings appear incessantly-freezing up what ever Im in the middle of, by engaging a virus scan which is extremely diffuicult to shut off and nearly always hyjacks me to a Virus ray website -this virus scan also starts itself up automatically every time I leave my computer unattended and am not there to stop it,
These scans are difficult to stop and the popups prevent me from typing, surfing, ANYTHING until I close them, Also this same website virusray, pops up EVERYTIME I start up my computer preventing me from surfing etc, until I manage to get them off my screen, sometimes their scan runs sneaky, hidden behind other websites, and when I see the results they claim I have hundreds of viruses, and must pay for their removal, cleaning, scanning protection services immediately.
My computer is now slower, it has been SUDDENLY, UNEXPECTEDLY shutting itself down, which causes a lengthy disk check each tme I reboot, along with the data loss and dangers of shutting down inapropriately. I now frequently recieve error mesages from windows stating that windows needs to shut me down immediately. I have reported these problems to windows and aol, but they suggest I purchase protection from them as well.
One last thing, I was routed to netscape a lot during the downloads so I called aol, their affiliate and told them that netscape should stop hosting virus ray and possibly these affiliates but they just said to download their security, I think its free. Here are my futile attempts at removing this ad/spyware Trojan virus. I downloaded a legit companys (Ewido) virus-protection, scan and removal software, this legit company scanned and REMOVED many infections for free but still the virusray advertising package and the trogan viruses remain on my computer along with the frustrating computer freezing popups the website virusray and the unrequested security 7.1 task bar.
After ewido cleaned, and removed ALL viruses and infections as they stated, As a test I then downloaded more of the greedy giveaway FOLLOW UPS which were requesting my return responses - links which they again sent to my hotmail, immediately after I went to some of their affiliated websites I became reinfected according to ewidos second scan, since the first ewido scan stated my system was clean, when the infections had immediately returned, Iwas led to believe again that these free downloads contained and installed the viruses. I tried creating a new restore point or a do a "go back", as they say to get my computer back as before I downloaded from these apparent affiliates. I also commanded my computer to uninstall the virusray program
But every attempt, I know of to remove this website and viruses, is a frustrating waist of time, as it is so pervasive, all of my feeble attempts have been futile. I have emailed them letting them know that I am on to them, Demanding that they remove their crap for free, but have not recieved any response, not even an unsubscribe link which I requested. I am being held hostage by these proverbial school yard bullies. I have done research and have learned that I have been infected with the most difficult of viruses to get rid of, a series of trogans and also learned that virusray.com is responsable. Just search virusray removal and you will agree with me, stay away from all mentioned websites, take this as a legitamate warning.
