I gave my credit card details on an adult site, that stated it would only be used for age verification, and no money would be taken from my account. I then had trouble using my credit card to pay for petrol in a local garage. Luckily i rang my credit card company to check why, and that is when i discovered that money had been charged by this company.
I have cancelled my card and informed the credit company to investigate this transaction. I dont hold out much hope of getting my money back, but hope that this will help people in future to not get ripped off by these sort of companies. Even if you think you are safe because they say they only need your card number for age verification, it is obviously a con.
These people are obviously targeting adult sites hoping people will be too embarassed to do anything.
