I never bought into the service from Privacy Matters. All of a sudden a charge for 29.95 appeared on my credit card statement in July. I did not notice this until I received my statement. I therefore called the company to dispute the charge and find out how this happened. I got the run around and inevitably told them to cancel this membership, that I never signed up for in the first place. I received a cancellation email and confirmation from them, however no refund of the 29.95.
I checked my account information online today. There were 2 additional charges from Privacy Matters. One that occurred last night, after I received the email cancellation confirmation in the amount of 89.85 and then another one 3 hours later at 1am for another 89.85.
I called them and went around and around with them. They showed only one charge and couldn't find the other and assured me that they were just authorizations and would be reversed in 2-3 banking days.
This company is a fraud and they are stealing from people. I hope someone puts a class action lawsuit together. I'd definitely like to be a part of shutting them down.
