Trans Union - Over 24 Years Bending Over To
"subscribers" Shouldn'y have to pay fro what is yours - Senator ripped off my suggestion 24 years ago

This report concerns Trans Union - otherwise known as TU. Over 24 years ago, I reported them to a Senator's aide in Riverside, CA. Copy of letter (redacted) is available should Ripoff reports deem appropriate.

Essentially, TU has consistently been the worst of the credit bureaus and I now believe that anyone that uses their services might be dealing with a conflict of interest.

In their most recent commercials, they show TU as providing the highest credit score while Experian and Equifax had lower.

This is and continues to be deceptive.

I spoke with a Senator's aide and followed up with written documentation in 1983 that pointed out the inequities of the current credit reporting system and how legislation should correct.

If my suggestions were followed, the consumer would have full access to their credit report as well as having the ability to dispute any negative data prior to its inclusion. Read the letter. It is very clear and most appropriate to the current economy.

These modifications are now costing consumers if they want any kind of timely notice (one year free doesn't cut it). The Bureaus all know this and that's why they "created" this "accommodation" to the consumer.

My question is; what did Michael Lafferty and Senator Presley get out of this as surely this was passed on to their "major contributors"? Where are they now?

What is really important here is that the consumer knows that this is their information and as such the bureaus should hold a higher regard to them rather then the "subscribers". If not, we should maybe all "opt out of reporting".

I hope that RR decides that publication of this letter is appropriate. If not you may request copy and I will forward.
