I just had a salesperson at my door who I let spend 20 minutes at my home explaining why their educational books were so great. She asked for the $89 payment up front BEFORE DELIVERING THE BOOKS. I was not comfortable at all doing that and then she said that I could pay for half. The funny thing was there was no online ordering for their product.
She had no books to give me, as she was on foot and couldn't carry them in the heat. She would not let me even touch one of the books, saying "this is only a sample".
She said I could check out their website which I did, but I also did a search for in "complaints about Southwestern Company". Much to my surprise their are lawsuits against this company and they are basically known for taking advantage of foreign exchange students and sending them out door knocking (even in dangerous areas) to sell their product. A completely unethical practice.
I wished I would have been able to chase her down after I read all the info so I could give it to the salesperson who is just looking for temp housing while getting an education in America.
