Ripoff Give false employment info don't teach well

CSB is a broadcasting school which promises that the student will "learn by doing"- get hands-on experience with radio and television equipment. When I attended the Open House in January I asked the regional director about career opportunities and salary after graduation. I was told "you will start out making 10-11 dollars an hour." Unfortunately, this is not true. Both instructors and classmates who have knowledge of the radio industry have said that we will have to start out with an unpaid internship, then make between 7 and 9 dollars an hour. I feel like I have been ripped off and that they lied in order to get me to sign up.

In the beginning, classes were about 90% lecture and 10% hands-on. There are over 20 students in the class. The lecture consisted of reading the photocopied handouts - there are no textbooks here. All you get are photocopied handouts. The tuition is $11,000 for 32 classes. The least they could do is give us real textbooks. They rush through the curriculum, they have to teach us the equipment in a 3.5 hour class. All you are getting for your money is a basic explanation and overview of the equipment. It's up to you to come in on your free time and practice - anything you learn will be pretty much on your own, by trial and error. The equipment malfunctions quite often. The instructors don't really teach - they just show how to use it and then have the students try it.

Please save your money and don't go here. It's not worth it.
