WLI Reservation Rewards
Unauthorized billing to my personal checking/debit account, unsure of how company got my personal information. Found out company is affiliated with my banking institution

I recently noticed charges against my checking/debit account on a monthly basis of $10.00 per month. The first few charges were from an unknown (no company name) source, which at first made me think it was just the bank adding one of their many "service" charges to my account, so I didn't think much of it.

After about 3 months I started to see that a company called Reservation Rewards was the culprit in billing my account the past rew months, as their name finally appeared on the debit to my account for the amount.

I then did a search on the company and found out that they have been doing this scam for a period of time and that they get your information thru various "backdoor" schemes, such as having you click on discount coupons or special offers after you made a credit card purchase over the internet.

They never let you know that this company (Reward Reservations) is going to be signing you into a monthly membership that is going to deduct a fee from you each and every month until you cancel the membership, but how do you know to cancel anything that you didn't sign up for? Too me that is very deceitful!!!

Another deceitful thing that they do is when they bill your accout for the fee, they will use different names or names that are very vauge in who is actually charging you, hoping that you just don't see or catch it.

Most people won't even notice at small charge of $10.00 on their account each month thinking it has something to do with either a finance or service charge only. Now if they do this to each and every person who makes a purchase on the internet and only a small percentage of these people catch onto it, think about all the money they are making. They will send you marketing emails periodically, but these emails don't tell you that you are currently paying any sort of monthly membership fee or you just ignore the email thinking its just spam.

What finally gets me is that I contact my bank (Bank Of America) to tell them of these unknown charges and to put a stop payment on them, the customer service representative tells me she has heard about this company many times and I was not the first. She is sure to put a stop on any future payments to this company then figures out for me how many months this has been going on and ask if I would like to file a report with the consumer compaints department to see if they can get back my money. They then transfer me over to that department and the representative there tells me that Reservation Rewards is affiliated with Bank Of America and says that he can "transfer" me over to them directly and all I need to do is tell them to refund my money.

I am thinking to myself, what the hell is going on here??? Is my banking instituion working with this company to cheat me and the rest of their customers out of money?

You can do a search of "Reservation Rewards Scams" and you will see tons of people who have gone thru the same thing. And this has been going on for quite a few years.
