WLI*Reservation Rewards
Made ongoing unauthorized charges to both my checking account and credit card for many months without my knowledge. Ripoff Connecticut Internet

I recently noticed a debit on my checking account statement that I thought I had seen previously. I looked on several statements and found the charge to be reoccurring at the same time every month for $9.

The name still bugged me and I thought I had seen it on my husband's credit card statement. I pulled out three months of statements and found it on all three except the amount on these was for $10.

There was a phone number listed beside the words "WLI*ReservationRewards", so I called the number. I got a customer service rep who informed me that I had signed up a discount travel service when I had made a purchase at the Laptops For Less website. They said I had had to enter my email address twice to sign up for this service. They said this occurred in June.

I knew this was some sort of scam but I was unsure about how they had gotten my credit/debit card information and I was sure that the charges went back much further than June.

I did a search on the Internet and found several websites (including this one) that described other people's experiences with Reservation Rewards (Webloyalty.com, Inc.). My husband called his credit card company and they found charges going back 11 months. I researched bank statements on my checking account and found debits totaling 27 months (going back to January) for this ridiculous, so-called service. The charges totaled $353 and may be more but due to lack of records/access cannot be verified.

I have been an long-time Internet shopper and love the convenience of it but this concerns me so much, I refuse to purchase anything else on the Internet until I can be assured that this will not continue to happen again and again in the future!

I have since done some homework and found out that there are numerous so-called "partner" websites on which a pop-up will appear asking if you would like to sign up for a $10 rebate on the purchase you have just made! If you do, you will also be signing up for Reservation Rewards. (The second time you enter your email address, it automatically triggers a transfer of your credit card information from the website in which you entered it, to Reservation Rewards). These "partners" are knowingly collaborating with Reservation Rewards to scam innocent customers who have no idea what they have done.

I believe every person scammed by this method by Reservation Rewards and their "partners" should notify the website they were shopping what has occurred and let them know you will not return to their website to shop again until they stop this misleading, deceitful activity! If enough people do this, they will have no choice but not to allow Reservation Rewards to do this!

If Internet shoppers do not make a statement about this process, then there will be no place online to shop safely!!!

I would like to get my money back from Reservation Rewards but more importantly, I would like to see this practice outlawed!!!
