I signed up for online classes with university of Phoenix. At first I thought this was a good thing to do. Until now 9 weeks later I realize they use all your information as a way to rip you and the government off.
I was approved for 10,665 in grant money and student loans from sallie mae. The stafford loan unsubsidized and subsidized. The university received the first money 1313.00 on March 23 and the second 2000.00 on March 26 and another 2000.00 on April 4 I take 2 classes 795.00 each plus 60 misc fees.
Once they got the first money I was all of a sudden dropped form one course and told that it was due to attendence, which was a lie. So I went to log in and go to class and I had no access anymore therefore all my proof was gone. Becasue everytime you log in its recorded time and date stamped. I also always did both clases at the same time one right after the other. And as of March 23 My academic counselor (week 8 of 9) all was well and up to date mind you I get these check calls once a week sometimes 2 from Mike Kennedy.
But as soon as they got money in my name I because the student that was not in compliance and all proof I had was revolked. And by now probably changed to reflect the lies they are saying.
Now they want me to re take the class and charge me a additional 855.00 for a retake, that starts april 9. So they can take more of my money. And I have not received one red cent that goes to the student. All I get is excuses.
Now for the other class they left me in I printed attendence logs and assignments that I completed so they would not try that withthis class. This school has collected 5300.00 for 2 9 weeks classes that cost 795.00 60 each. This is such a scam against the public and government. My finance person in Emily Meyers and I have her on recording stating how funds are disbursed and to date that still has not been done. Now they are claiming that there may not be additional funds do to me. So where does that grant money and LOAN money go? To them as a bonus.
I hate that I ever clicked to get information from this school.
I am willing to be apart of any class action suit. Please contact me asap.in a way I am glad to see that on this site so mant people have experienced this same problem then on the other hand it saddens me. AND they talk to you like you are 5 years old and with no concern they are so comfortable doing this to people on a daily basis.
I think they should be held accountable on a personal level in a separate lawsuit or criminal level government fraud or soemthing. I will not stop until I get justice.
