I enrolled with University of Phoenix so I could further my career potential. One week after I started classes, my husband and I found out he had terminal cancer which to help with pain and such required chemo every 3 weeks and radiation everyday for 4 weeks. We have to drive 100 miles round trip to these appointments, so I knew I would have no time or energy to continue with these classes. I informed the staff at University of Phoenix and they withdrew me from the classes but still charged me $517.50 for just one weeks worth of classes online. I don't think this is fair but I paid it. They told me if I were able to get back to class within 3 months that the $517.50 would be used towards the new classes, but more than likely it will be quite a while before I can restart classes with me having to take care of my husband.
