My husbands job has been closing down everywhere (furniture), so he got the paper time and time again and all he saw was truck drivers needed. He decided to better himself to go to school for it but the cash flow was getting pretty low, so we had to act fast to make the bills. After inquiring on several schools we found Alliance that was well known and seemed to teach their students well.
The interviewer came to our house and told us how it worked. The tuition was $5,900 for a 4 week program after that he was guareentee 99% a job with a company.
IF we can pay for the tuition they CLAIM not to worry, they will work with us... WRONG! The guy also pressured us into a 250.00 (Not refundable after 5 working days) right then and there to reserve our seat, if we didnt write the check then it was not likely for him to take this class!
They showed us a diagram that let my husband pick what type of hours he wanted to work. There was long haul which ment being away from home weeks at a time, Over the road which ment gone for a week and home on the weekends and then there was local which ment he would be home nightly.
The school was hours away from home so they also said he would have a "dorm" to sleep in and NEVER mentioned a cost for the room. He explained they have housing for people in need.
For anyone that attempts trucking school with Alliance, want the truth??? The 5,900 does NOT pay for permit fee's, cdl license fee, room and board, the $65 physical and drug fee... Nothing!!!
For 5,900 your better off going to a company and signing with them a 6 month - 1 year contract! YOu get paid plus they teach you without paying almost 6,000 dollars!
Tuition that they claim they help with, GOD what a joke!!! What they do is run credit application's with ALOT of banks ruining your credit and you receive several letters in the mail stating youv been denied! WHY? Because you quit your job to go to this rippoff school!!!
So everyone that was unable to get in the school had to go home and they got the 250 you put down for the school! Then brought in people able to pay the tuition in the middle of the classes! So people were quitting their jobs paying the 250 for the seat and then sent home because Alliance was unable to help like they claimed!
Your out 250 and go through everything for nothing! Fortunatly I had my sister to pay for it and I pay her back as if she was the bank! Otherwise we probably would of lost our house because Alliance giving us hope on whats nothing but lies!
Their dorms? It is not what they make you think it is!!! Its a 2 bedroom trailer that whoever needs it can stay at. My husband was told he had to share this trailer with 5 other men that were loud and he knew he would not be able to study or sleep.
The teachers even called one student "mouth" because he was so rude and disruptive in class... Now how in the heck do they expect anyone to pass if they cant sleep or study knowing theres a person like that? You also have to pay each night you sleep in this condition! My husband has chosen to sleep in his truck outside of the school, instead of throwing money away and end up failing the school. All teachers and students are aware and with the 6,000 they dont care.
As for their 99% chance of them getting you a job after, haha! Yeah Right! They hand you a bunch of application's before you even graduate to fill out and mail to companies!
They dont do anything to get your foot in the door!!! My husband could have done that!!! This school makes you beleive they have soooooooo much to offer and its all a word/money game!
Then as far as that local job my husband was told he could pick, WRONG! Now hes being told he HAS to drive over the road atleast 6 months before anyone would even consider to hire him locally!
They also interview the wife to make sure theres no problems with the family for the husband to be gone so much! That wouldnt cause a problem because my husband planned on eventually working locally but come to find out they dont even offer that at first! So for a school that seemed so concerned about our families adjustment when it came right down to it they dont give a crap!
This is what Alliance has done to my family!!! My kids dont have a father for the past month and now told it will be 6 months before he can work locally! They put the burden on my husband to find a place he can study, sleep and care for himself!
Im having a hard time sleeping at night, knowing hes sleeping in his truck because we were told he would have a dorm... Not paying for a tiny 2 bdr. Trailer with 5 rude people! Then they told us it was a flat fee of 5,900... NOT!
We have to pay for all fees at the license office, we would have to pay for room n board if my husband choice to do so but the money is tight and choice to suffer for his family instead, they nickel and dime you until you have nothing left!
No husband, no money... No family! They acted so worried if I could handle my husband being gone... BULL, they knew they were not being completely honest and was going to put my family through hell! Ruin families, put men through hell, lie and manilulation all for the good ole buck!!! Alliance, you should be ashamed for even showing your faces on TV!!!
