When I first joined Werner as a solo driver after surviving the eight weeks of training from hell, by the way I also spent most of my time in a hotel and my eight weeks turned into ten because they had no mentaly sane trainer available for me.
The Training story is long so I'm gonna fast forward to my solo dedicated route with Werners Number one dispacher from hell on the coca cola board in Allentown, pa who just happens to be married to the safety manager from the same place. This Woman Martha Lapha was my dispacher who made it clear to me that she did'nt like having a woman on her board (me) (it's better when your dispacher can't see how pretty you are)
She did everything she could to arrange for me to use the most of my time and make the least amount of money, every driver she had who was black was treated this way and worst I even heard her husband (Dave Lapha-Allentown terminal safety manager) make racial coments in his office while I was in the waitting room next in line for a random drug test after returning from a visit with my husband in Jamaica.
I was called in the terminal managers office about performance after I asked her to take me off of her board. All of a sudden I had late loads I knew nothing about and when Martha and her supervisor who was on a speaker phone started asking things like how are the kids and the wife doing I knew I was screwed so I just said tell me what's next because I know what ever I say will not make a difference. I was told since Martha seems to like me (ha ha ha!!!) I can stay on her board only and he's in charge of the sears board that i arranged to go on.
Later when I stayed out for a month in order to get a week off which was planned one month ahead of time all of a sudden I Get sent to Rhode Island the night before my flight to run out of hours while returning. Just a few days before she asked me to go to Omaha, NB to change trucks I reminded her that I had a flight the next week and people have waitted as much as a month for a new truck. Any way the day I left she had my truck towed and when I called I could never get her on the phone, she never attempted to call me at all, I even sent a certified letter that I never got a response on.
Her boss told me they don't let trucks sit for five days like that I reminded him it sat before for seven when I went away last but he did'nt seem to understand all parts of english. The truck was in need of repairs it was smoking badly this is why it would be turned in. Werners son tried to help me but he could'nt get the story strait and said he did'nt know what was going on so to sum it all up your dispacher can fire you at Werner Enterprises and get away with it.
