Wow, am I glad I checked this site out! After getting a very nice email, followed by a very nice and professional-sounding phone call from a secretary I was eager to meet the representative of this company I'd never heard of. Sounded so expensive, very high-class, and I felt that perhaps I was being selected out of just a few because of my background to have the opportunity to actually present my sorry case to this wonderful executive service.
I went to the first interview. I came away very impressed and excited but was puzzled as to why he wanted to see me again but this time with spouse in tow. But, I was told that only 15% of applicants get asked back, that I was special and was going to be an easy person to score a job for. Luckily for me my wife was out of the state and was unable to attend a second meeting. I relayed this info to Bernard Haldane Co. Which said that they could forego the spouse attending and lets meet again soon.
On my second meeting a sheet was passed over the desk which explained that for me to get their expertise I would need to shell out $4800. Well, I'm not stupid... Alarm bells went off! I called my wife and she about crapped! Having worked in a Job Recruiting company for 10 yrs herself she gave me the quick skinny. Needless to say, the Haldane Company didn't get me to sign on the bottom line!
I can't report a fraud but I can see the makings of a fairly easy and perfectly legal scam. Since Bernard Haldane makes no claims to ever locate you a job they are completely off the hook legally if you fail to find employment. Basically, they are a very expensive short course on resume writing and interview presentation... And that's it. The rest is up to you. Think it's worth almost $5K? Not me.
If say, they were to actually land you a job... And it pays $48,000 a year. 10% goes to Bernard Haldane!? I could do better on my own.
The buyer should be aware but I feel the States Attorney General should be aware as well as to the cult-like manipulation of individuals in very vulnerable situations.
They should probably cease just as a health risk. Suprising actually that no one's gotten hurt! Anyone bilked ME out of $5K and I knew their physical address... Better run!
