It started years ago... But kids don't talk about it when the summer is over cause they are embarassed. So the new round of workers the next summer are clueless. They work for Len McGarvey at Yellow Duck Park. Sweat in the heat. Make the property look good for his paying guests. And then it happens - the first pay check usually clears since its small and represents only a few days. The next check (always given after 3PM on a Saturday when the banks are closed) MIGHT clear. Now if it doesn't the stories are clever, sound real to the summer help.
He pulls them in with the BS and they believe. After all why would an adult lie to a kid working for the summer? So they work another week. Ah pay day! But wait - no check! More stories. More BS. But with a straight face. And that fat face is so sad looking as he spouts off the sad story! The trusting youth believe again. And work another week. Get the picture. He STOLE THEIR TIME! Work - no pay.
He throws them a check now and then. The lucky ones clear. The others - boing.^.^. Boing.^.^. They bounce. Slowly they wise up and talk about quitting. But miracles happen and they get a raise! OK another week. Oops that darn bank messed up and no money is available. But it will be - so just hang on.
Now summer is over. Kids go back to school. Parents, angry, say "well you learned a lesson. It was just a summer job." And fund their kids needs. What a shame. And the con artist continues on.
Now he begs for money on the web site and attempts to lure people into new memberships. What A Joke. His renovations have been going on for YEARS and NOTHING has happened. Please do not fund this mans life style.
He sent letters to all this summers employees in Aug asking for patience as he gets new members and can pay them off slowly. Well if you were on his payroll this summer and got money I beg you to say so on this site.'Cause it aint happened yet.
Then October came and he sent a new letter. Just let him collect $ from his Halloween Lights and he will pay. You guessed it...
And now he lures people and their money in for the next holiday lights. Don't go. Stop supporting this man. Call or visit the local court in Canfield. Bring a lunch because the stories are long and the reports filed each year are increasing. Not just the summer help. The Holiday of Lights employees don't get paid either. Not hear-say - FACT.
I personally know kids three years back waiting for their pay. And they know people beyond that. It's been going on for years.
DO NOT SUPPORT YELLOW DUCK PARK IN CANFIELD, OHIO WITH MEMBERSHIPS. You are buying a mans dream. Go look at the property. This renovation has been going on for years.
Do not visit the holiday lights. No one gets the money but len mcgarvey. He still owes his summer help!
