This guy is now is Newark, CA. I fell for the same story when this Italian approached me outside of the Lowe's in Newark. He is in 50s and weights around 200 lbs. This individual claimed he's from Milan and will be flying back to Italy tomorrow, but he lost all his money in the casino and didn't have enough money to pay his rental car. I've checked his rental agreement and plane ticket, which looked very real. He also offered me to check his passport. Yea, he looked really innocent and worried. Anyhow, he initially offered me $400 for three jackets. He also showed me to use a lighter and burn the jacket without any burn mark. But I was quite alert in the first place and told him I usually don't buy things on the street with a stranger. So he left and then he drove back to my car begging me to talk to him. I felt bad for him because I did believe his story and he looked very honest. To make the story short, I told him I can only afford $140 for 3 jackets to just help him out. He even gave me three jackets and allowed me to put them in my car first. Then he just waited quietly for me to get the money. We talked a little while because I really wanted him not to gamble again for his own good sake.
Coincidentally, I do need a leather jacket since the weather is getting cold and I will be a business trip next week.in fact, the jacket's brand tag is very much faked after I looked into it carefully. Well, all I can say I don't agree this way of doing business although I will keep the jackets for personal use.
Last but not least, all the jackets fit me very well and I wonder how those guys can pick the exact sizes for me without digging in his stocks? Interesting!!!
