Fraudulent Representation ripoff

The Company sent a card with the Marriott logo and gave reason for the invitation the "Celebration of our Anniversary". The offer was 3 day and 2 nights free stay at Marriott "getaway properties", free dinner and free gas. When calling the 800-number, the explanation was "just to tell your family and friends about us".

When arriving to the "office" in Salem, NH, it was obvious that it is a high-pressure sales for membership in a "Travel Club". The membership cost was said to be about $9,000 for a family. Then when I talked to them, they were suddenly reducing it to about $2000!

The other offers, such as "free" stay at Marriott, organized by "VIP Travel" in Port Orange, FL, required a $75 money order or cashier's check for "registration". The gas reqired a receipt for at least $10 to be sent yet to another company in Port Orange, FL.

It looks like a fraudulent scheme trying to get people to participate and misrepresenting the services. It is quite suspicious that suddenly the membership goes from $9,000 to $4,000 or even $2,000 when you negotiate with them. Even then, one wonders if it is worth it. Buyer bevare!
