I saw the add in the paper like many others and answered the add for managenet. They really don't answer any questions over the phone except that they are a fire safety company. I should have known then that it was a rippoff.
Any respectable business will let you have some idea what the job entails before they waiste your or there time with unqualified applicants. Ten or fifteen others also arrived for the "interview." the enire group enters the same room to here the over-energized manager give their speech.
It sounds great up until they tell you that you have to sell for 5-8 weeks before you become a manager. I've managed two multi-million dollar businesses and have had many years experience in sales. It seemed like a good product, and i had no doubt that i was more than quallified. All but three left the room as soon as julie mentioned sales, and i was one of the three.
She separated us, gave us applications and proceeded to interview us by ourselves. She told me i had the job before i was even finished with my application because of my work experience. Then she asked for a $75 fee for a backkground check that normally costs $150. She said the company would pay for the other half of the fee.
Then i talked to people that i go to church with that have been ripped off by these salesmen & women and i refused to take part in any business that does not provide 100% customer satisfaction. After reading some of the testimonies on this site, i'm glad i didn't get suckered in any further. Please use good judgement and inspect a companies track record before getting involved.
