My first bad experience was last year when I completed my Feb-05 class. My company waits for a bill and then pays the school. The school never asked for payment and 6 monthes later reported me to a collection agency it took 17 hours and 42 minutes over three weeks to get this fixed.
Second problem occured when I wanted to take a break due to my jobs workload. They forced me to quit the school.
Third problem. I tried to switch schools and everyone I gave my transcripts said less than half the credits are accptable they all told me it would take less time to re-enroll at AIU.
I started the process to re-enroll in Aug-05 and it took three different times of filling all the paperwork. Finally I was re-enrolled in Jan-06. My work gives me a letter of credit to submitt and AIU and my company agreed to a 5 week semister. I just finished my 5 week semister and was going to withdraw - worst school I have ever attended they just want yours or the gov'ts money - anyway the told me I cannot withdraw and are double charging me for the classes that were already paid for by my company. I logged in for 5 minutes to notify my teacher I planned to leave the school and start over at a reputable institution. AIU said since I had tasken 5-week I have to pay for ten weeks even though I never attended this class. Its like paying for a new car but the dealer get to keep it and you can never drive it.
The bottom line AIU's credits do not hold weight. AIU is all about forcing students to apply for financial aid -even though I do not need it they tried to force me to apply or they told me I could not attend - I never did but attended. AIU has deceptive practices to take your money. Their policies are not to work with a student and try and set them up to pay thousans of dollars even when you never attended a class.
I am looking to see if a class action lawsuit has been filed yet. If not I feel there is enough upset students on this site to get one started. As for the student and instructors they all seem ok. It the AIU employees and the corporation itself that is stealing from people try to better themselves. As for othe ronline schools the other two I attened get very positive comment form the colleges I recently loked into attending. AIU get very negative comments.
