Due to Hurricanes and extensive rains last year the water level in Lake Kerr in NE Marion is very near flooding height. I have lived here for 26 years and the water level has never been this high. Some septic systems are under water which makes them unusable.
I submitted a proposal to install a culvert that would lower the level of the lake by 12-18" and was told I should have realized when I bought the property that it could flood. When I bought the property I was told there was a culvert that would drain the excessive water from the lake. This turned out to be untrue.
I was also told that they [SJRWMD] would let mother nature take care of the water level of the Lakes.
There are other people around the lake who are having the same problem as I but either don't know who to contact or are scared to say anything
