I just (2:30 A.M.) received a phone call from "Shawn Williams" from GSI Grants. He told me everthing that I read in the rest of the reports, give them $298.00 and they will give me $6000 in a grant.
I am in Korea working for the government and I was skeptical. These people are really good at what they do. "Shawn" said he was on the East coast. I didn't bother to look at my phone because the phone said "BC" and "cell phone". I tried to call that number but couldn't get anyone. I am an idiot for not looking but it was in the middle of the night for me.
I did everything I wasn't suppose to do and when I woke up 10 minutes later I realized that I just gave my banking info to a complete stranger.
I went directly to the computer and typed in GSI grants and the "rip off" report came up immediately. I was sick. I could not believe I did this. I don't trust anyone.
I called them back 5 times and got the same girl 3 times and the same guy 2 times, what are the odds of that? I told them my name and informed them that I was recording the call. I told them that I wanted to cancel my grant and I didn't want the money. They said I had to wait until Friday (72 hours to be in the system). The girl talked for a little while then asked me if I said I was recording and I said yes.
She said she was not comfortable being recorded and I said I wouldn't be either if I were trying to scam people. She told me to hang up and call back. I did. I called back and told them that they should be ashamed of themselves and if they take any money out of my account that I would be the last.
I am very upset about this, at myself expecially because I never do things like this. The $298 isn't suppose to come out until 9 January. I will put a stop on it in the morning. I still can't believe this has happened. I hope we can do something about it.
