I received a call from GSI the other day: it was a lady with a middle eastern accent and there was a guy, too. They said that they would give me a $6,000 grant from the government, and I just had to have $298 in my bank account for the fee. I thought they were serious, so I gave them my bank account number and they said they would call back in 21 to 28 days.
I thought about it, after I go off of the phone, and wanted to see if they were legit or not. So, I called the number that they had given me and it went to a message (with the middle eastern lady speaking) saying, "All of our representatives are busy right now. Please hold for the next available representative."
I thought something was up then, so I went online to look up GSI. The guy had said that they didn't have a website, but I figured that if they were legit they would be mentioned somewhere. So, I looked it up and I found all these scam reports and rip - off reports. I read some of them and knew it waas the same people that had called me.
So, I called my bank and got my account blocked until I go in and change the account number and everything. I'm glad I found out before they took my money, because it's easier thi way.
If these people have called you, call your bank and change your account information as soon as you can. These people need to get caught and sent to jail for what they're doing to people.
