On October 27 my checking account was charged $49.95 by Advantage America for software which I did not order and never received. I do not remember ever talking to any representative of the company.
I called them on October 31 to discuss the problem. The individual to whom I spoke had a very strong accent, and being partially deaf I could not fully understand him. He asked that I fax a report to them with a copy of the bank statement. I told him no I just wanted a credit. Basically, I got no where with him.
Because I could not correct the problem, I called my bank this morning and they stated that I should call the police and also gave me the number of 3 Better Business Bureaus I should contact.
I have sent a FAX to Advantage America but have not heard from them as yet. I am going to wait until later today before I do what my bank wants me to do. I do not believe that the FAX will do any good, but I will give them a chance to correct the situation.
