Publishers Renewal Service - Western Readers Service
Ripoff

Publishers renewal service "your magazine expert" was TAKING money from my husband account without his knowledge. The only way we found out is when they overdrew his account and the bank teller gave him the number to call them. As he doesn't look at his statements (that's most men for you) so he proceeds to call and the woman will tell him nothing about his account except that they've been taking money from him for 16mons.

She stated he signed an agreement for a 2yr contract with them and he could not cancel it. I told him to go to the bank immediately and close his account and he did so they would actually send him a bill so we could find out some information. The bill stated he signed an agreement to pay $2000.00 over a two year period for 10 magazines. I'm sorry but no one in their right mind would pay that much for magazines. I then googled them and a link came up from a site where someone in another state contacted their attorney Generals office and got their money back. So, I went to the MD state attorney general website and filed a consumer complaint and mailed my proofs and was contacted by a very nice represenative that got all of our money back. We got a check in the mail for over $1000.00. If you are being scammed here is what YOU do!!!

If someone is taking money out of your account and you don't know who it is get the bank teller to get the number for you to contact them. If it comes down to it close your account so you can get proof of being billed. Call them get the name of the person you are speaking to, ask when the account started and when it ends. Be sure to write down all the magazines you are supposed to be getting. THEN, go to google type in the magazine (example: pc mag, rollingstone, playboy, ect.) and you can find out if your subscription was paid and if you owe any money.

I did this for each magazine and all of the magazine companies of the individual magazines were already paid. I printed out the emails they sent me and the account information of each magazine and sent those to the attorney generals office as well. I urge everyone who is being scammed by anyone to contact your attorney general and you will get help. If you have any questions for me please don't hesitate to ask I will respond through here.
