Just this past Wednesday, I recieved a phone call from my banks security division, informing me that they noticed my mac/visa being used more than usual. At first I was not overly alarmed since my birthday was this past monday and I treated myself to a few gifts.
What did alarm me though, was when the lady who called suggested that I verify for her all the recent charges and the company's that billed me. Aside from an unauthorized charge from Ancestry.com to the tune of $500.00 plus dollars that I did not make I was told that a company called New Healthy Ssvings billed me for $49.95 and had been doing so since February and that the only way I could stop them was to call them using the phone number the bank gave me.
I figured the safest thing for me to do would be to check out the company's website and refresh my memory as to who and what I was supposedly subscribing too! Not having a web address to go to I did the next best thing and did a search for the company by name. The first item on the list was this site and I got to read a posting by another unfortunate person to be taken by this company.
I called my bank immediately and gave them the web address for this site and told them what I had read and they are going to give all the information to the investigator that will be looking into the situation for me.
I was all ready to start calling this company and paying the long distance charges on top of what they have taken from me for a subscription I don't have, but thanks to all the people that have posted their experiences here I have been saved that expense.
I also have a new deep seated fear that if you e-mail them or call them they will use that to access your computers information and get the new account numbers you have. I would also not be surprised to see a charge for this company show up on the phone bill since music is one of the things cell phones are capable of receiving.
I do not intend to let this drop since I do not wish to see anyone else suffer what I and so many others have had to go through because of New Healthy Savings. The money taken can be replaced, but things like "Trust" and "Time" needed to fix the mess they created are not easily regained.
